Position Type: Full TimeBoone Memorial Health is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Retail Pharmacy Technician to join our Comfort Pharmacy team in Comfort, WV. In this full-time role, you’ll work alongside pharmacists to support the preparation and dispensing of medications while ensuring friendly, professional service to patients. This position plays a key role in maintaining accurate records, supporting inventory, and ensuring a smooth, patient-centered experience.

Boone Memorial Health (BMH) is a growing, rural Critical Access Health System based in Madison, West Virginia. At the center of our organization is a 25-bed inpatient hospital with a 24/7 Emergency Department, designated as a Level IV Trauma Center. We serve our community through a network of outpatient clinics and specialty services throughout Boone County and the surrounding region. Qualifications
Required:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid, active, unrestricted Pharmacy Technician license with the West Virginia Board of Pharmacy
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Ability to perform tasks requiring prolonged standing and occasional lifting (up to 20 lbs)
Preferred:
- Prior retail pharmacy experience
- National Pharmacy Technician Certification
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare medications for pharmacist review and final dispensing
- Accurately input and maintain prescription and patient data
- Provide courteous customer service at the counter, drive-thru, and via phone
- Restock shelves and check inventory for expired or low-supply medications
- Accept deliveries and reconcile vendor shipments
- Operate cash register and ensure HIPAA compliance
- Collaborate with BMH providers and clinic staff
- Maintain pharmacy records and patient profiles
- Utilize CPSI to retrieve demographic and insurance information
- Support physical inventory and maintain a clean, organized work environment
- Assist with other assigned duties as directed by pharmacy leadership
