Position Type: Full Time
Salary Range: $23.00 - $26.00 Hourly

Job Title: Pharmacy Technician
Department: Pharmacy
Reports To: Pharmacy Director
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Summary:
Assist in various tasks or duties consistent with pharmacy technician licensure as outlined by the Washington State Board of Pharmacy and NOHN policies. Must be flexible and helpful in assisting the responsible pharmacist(s) to improve the operation of NOHN in support of the mission; to provide patient-centered, quality-driven, whole-person healthcare services, accessible to everyone in our community.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Achieve Results
- Maintain drug storage areas, including inventory management (stocking, expirations, organization)
- Provide support or management as needed of patient medication assistance programs
- Provide assistance with medication refill program
- Process clinic prior authorization requests, maintain records, contact patients and pharmacies as needed
- Process prescriptions for cash, third party, or sliding fee patients
- Support compliance with the Health Resources and Services Administration Office of Pharmacy Affairs with regard to the 340B Program
- Maintain patient pharmacy records in electronic health record systems
- Utilize Epic EMR as needed for patient or pharmacy specific medication records
Operational Excellence
- Utilize proper and consistent application of Lean methodologies and tools (kaizen, kanban)
- Support compliance with all Washington State pharmacy requirements
Responsible Management
- Maintain effective, positive relationships with patients, staff, peers, and management

Qualifications

Qualifications:
- Education: Successful completion of a Board-approved pharmacy technician training program
- WA State Pharmacy Technician License
- Remain in good standing with the WA State Board of Pharmacy
- Certification with the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board, is not required but would be preferable
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certified and renewed on an annual basis

Experience: 2 years or more retail pharmacy experience required.
- Skills: Proficiency in EHR systems, excellent communication skills, strong organizational skills, ability to work independently and as part of a team, cultural sensitivity.
- Comply with all aspects of WAC 246-901-020: pharmacy ancillary personnel utilization
- Communicate effectively with peers, providers, and patients
- Uphold the mission, values, and vision of NOHN
- Create and maintain a positive culture
- Language: Must be able to read, write and speak English. Bilingual and willing to assist with translating bonus.
Physical Demands:
- Require prolonged standing, sitting, some lifting of equipment. Normal accessibility and mobility are required.

Work Environment:
- Fast paced work environment
- Normal overtime/extended work hours as needed
Benefits:
