
Under the supervision of a registered pharmacist – and in accordance with all applicable laws and regulations and standard policies and procedures of the department, aPopulation Health Pharmacy Technician shall assist the pharmacist in improving the health of populations through optimized medication management, improved access to medications, and excellent customer service.
Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent required
Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) preferred and encouraged
Previous experience in a community/retail pharmacy setting preferred
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks
Proficiency in using pharmacy software and technology
Physical Requirements
Normal working conditions. Environmentally controlled indoor office setting
Must be able to attend meetings throughout the system and/or periodically travel
Concentration, prolonged sitting, and using the phone
Occupational Hazards
Potential for musculoskeletal injuries if proper lifting and carrying is not applied
Potential eye and/or back strain
Essential Functions:
Contacting patients with medication-related needs, such as ensuring they pick up prescriptions and supporting medication adherence initiatives.
Provide exceptional customer service by answering questions, addressing concerns, and offering product recommendations
Processing electronic refill requests and identifying anomalies for pharmacists to address
Assisting the pharmacist with tasks related to medication therapy management and chronic disease management
Maintain accurate patient records and ensure confidentiality
Adhere to all pharmacy laws, regulations, and organization policies
Other Duties: Perform other duties as may be assigned by the pharmacist, pharmacy technician supervisor, and pharmacy director/manager.
