Pharmacy
Pharmacy technicians assist pharmacists with providing medications to patients on a timely and accurate basis by collecting, preparing (including chemotherapy and other hazardous substances) and delivering medication orders as directed. Ensures sufficient and accurate drug distribution by verifying, entering and transmitting drug orders, processing credits and assisting clerical staff with processing of patient charges as required. Pharmacy technicians work only under the supervision of a registered pharmacist.

Floor stock
Maintains accurate accounting of CII safe inventory additions and dispensing to ADM’s.
Maintains current technician certification.
Attends pharmacy staff meeting.
Participates in orientation, education, and training programs.
Review literature and other materials as assigned.
Completes all competency/skills assessment requirements (see attached competency assessment/skills list.)
Prepares chemotherapy under supervision of pharmacist utilizing all safety double checks described in chemo preparation policy.
Education: Work requires knowledge generally acquired through a high school education or GED. Pharmacy Tech Certification course required.
Licensure: Current California Pharmacy Technician Certificate required. SVMHS Chemotherapy Certification required. New hires/transfers have 120 days from date of hire/transfer to obtain Chemo Certification and must remain continually current.
Experience: 2 years equivalent acute care hospital experience or 2080 hours as a Pharmacy Tech I. Pyxis experience required.
Pay Range The hourly rate for this position is $33.02 - $39.66. The range displayed on this job posting reflects the target for new hire salaries for this position.
