The Pharmacy Technician 1 is accountable for assisting pharmacists in the retrieval, processing, preparation and distribution of medications for patient administration. The Technician 1 functions in all aspects of drug distribution that do not require the professional judgment of a pharmacist. All assigned activities are performed under the supervision of a Pharmacist.What You Will Do
For Inpatient Pharmacy Tech 1, activities as permitted by licensure include but are not limited to:
Performs other duties as assigned.Complies with all policies and standards.For specific duties and responsibilities, refer to documentation provided by the department during orientation.Must abide by all requirements to safely and securely maintain Protected Health Information (PHI) for our patients. Annual training, the UH Code of Conduct and UH policies and procedures are in place to address appropriate use of PHI in the workplace.
High School Equivalent / GED (Required) and Graduate of an accredited pharmacy technician training program (Preferred) Work Experience
Prior experience as a pharmacy technician in a hospital or community setting. (Preferred) Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
Understanding of metric system and basic math concepts. (Required proficiency) Good communication skills are essential. (Required proficiency) Personal computer, calculators, facsimile machines. (Required proficiency) Licenses and Certifications
