PHARMACY PROGRAM TEAM LEAD

WHY THIS ROLE MATTERS

Every prescription that leaves our pharmacy represents a patient counting on us. As a Pharmacy Program Team Lead, you will be the driving force behind a dedicated team that ensures specialty medications reach the people who need them — accurately and on time. You won't just manage workflows; you'll mentor talent, solve complex problems, and shape the future of specialty pharmacy operations.

If you thrive on leading people, improving processes, and making a tangible difference in patient care — this is your opportunity.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

Lead & Inspire Your Team

  • Guide, coach, and mentor a team of non-pharmacist pharmacy professionals, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous growth.
  • Champion equitable workload distribution and support cross-functional teamwork across pharmacy programs.
  • Play a hands-on role in onboarding new hires and cross-training existing team members so everyone can excel.

Drive Operational Excellence

  • Coordinate end-to-end prescription workflow to consistently meet daily program deadlines.
  • Monitor outgoing shipments to confirm timely delivery and resolve any exceptions proactively.
  • Oversee inventory management practices and ensure routine administrative tasks are completed on schedule.
  • Enter, retrieve, and verify prescription data with meticulous accuracy.

Be the Go-To Expert

  • Serve as the Subject Matter Expert for your assigned program portfolio — maintaining comprehensive drug and program knowledge and sharing it effectively with your team.
  • Stay informed on programs managed by other teams to enable seamless collaboration.

Collaborate Across the Business

  • Partner with Pharmacy Managers, Pharmacists, and program management to align on priorities and deliver results.
  • Represent pharmacy at interdepartmental meetings and contribute to strategic discussions.

Ensure Quality & Compliance

  • Prepare, review, and maintain Quality Assurance documentation, including CAPAs.
  • Report Adverse Events in accordance with provincial regulatory standards and contractual obligations.
  • Process manual claims, audits, and financial documentation accurately and on time.
  • Liaise with the pharmacy Accountant on accounts receivable, benefits assignment, and related records.

Measure & Improve Performance

  • Understand and act on pharmacy performance metrics to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Review and analyze reports, invoices, and financial data to support informed decision-making.

WHAT YOU BRING

Must-Haves

  • Strong proficiency in Kroll and adjudication practices.
  • Excellent knowledge of public and private third-party payer policies.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365 (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs as part of daily duties.

Strong Preferences

  • Professional Certificate of Registration with a Provincial College of Pharmacy plus 2+ years of related experience.
  • Previous supervisory or management experience.

Nice-to-Haves

  • Knowledge of the broader pharmaceutical industry.
  • Minimum 2 years of Specialty Pharmacy experience.

WHAT WE OFFER

  • Competitive compensation and comprehensive benefits.
  • Signing Bonus: Available for qualified candidates
  • Professional development opportunities and clear pathways for career growth.
  • A leadership role with real impact on patient outcomes and team development.
  • A collaborative, supportive culture that values innovation and continuous improvement.
