Job Description

Longevity Scripts is seeking a part-time Nurse Consultant to support vaccination clinics, provide consultant nursing services to partner facilities, and promote safe medication practices throughout the organization. This position plays a key role in regulatory compliance, staff education, and quality improvement initiatives across Skilled Nursing Facilities (SNFs) and Assisted Living Facilities (ALFs). The Nurse Consultant reports directly to the Director of Clinical Services and works collaboratively with the Pharmacist Consultant to support safe and compliant medication management practices.

Essential Job Functions:

The Nurse Consultant provides clinical oversight, education, and consulting services to assigned facilities, supports immunization programs, and develops collaborative relationships with facility leadership. The role includes regular site visits, medication pass observation, staff education, and regulatory support in accordance with state and federal guidelines.

Consultant Nursing Responsibilities

  1. Completes monthly nurse consultant site visits to Skilled Nursing Facilities (SNFs) and quarterly visits to Assisted Living Facilities (ALFs) served by Longevity Scripts.
  2. Conducts medication pass observations to evaluate compliance with state regulations, facility policies, and safe medication administration practices.
  3. Provides real-time coaching and education to licensed nurses and medication technicians during site visits.
  4. Performs medication cart inspections to ensure proper organization, labeling, storage, expiration monitoring, and infection control compliance.
  5. Oversees and documents controlled substance destruction in accordance with Florida regulations and facility policies.
  6. Provides nurse and medication technician education regarding:
  • Medication pass best practices
  • Controlled substance handling and documentation
  • Proper medication storage

  • Documents site visit findings and provides written reports and recommendations to facility leadership and pharmacy leadership.
  • Develops and maintains collaborative working relationships with:
    • Directors of Nursing
    • Facility Administrators
    • Assisted Living Executive Directors

  • Serves as a clinical liaison between Longevity Scripts and facility leadership to support regulatory compliance and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Promotes Longevity Scripts to residents, families, and team members statewide.
  • Supports growth of pharmacy clinical services through relationship-building and educational outreach.
  • Maintains professional presence and serves as a representative of Longevity Scripts at assigned facilities.
  • Reports directly to the Director of Clinical Services.
  • Works in collaboration with the Pharmacist Consultant.
  • Performs delegated duties under the supervision of the Director of Clinical Services.
  • Essential Qualifications:

    • Active Florida Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing (required).
    • Must maintain active Florida RN license in good standing throughout employment.
    • Two (2) years in long-term care or assisted living environment preferred.
    • Knowledge long-term care regulations preferred.
    • Ability to work independently and manage a flexible schedule.
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to stand for extended periods during site visits and vaccination clinics.
