Mountain View Hospital is looking for a Pharmacy Buyer: Outpatient to join our team!
A pharmacy buyer is in charge of purchasing and maintaining inventory within the pharmacies and drug repositories of hospitals and large clinics. The pharmacy buyer purchases the inventory on hand, typically working to maintain certain cost controls and inventory management. The buyer also takes advantage of volume discounts, establishing par levels, and works to ensure proper accounting and rotation. Pharmacy buyer position is likely to require both supervisory duties and strong knowledge of pharmacology in a hospital and /or retail setting.

Education/Certification: High School graduate or equivalent. Graduate of certified training program/healthcare careers college and/or training equivalent. Education in all age groups ranging from newborn to geriatric population obtained either in school education, experience or subsequent training. Must be a nationally certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT).
Experience:
(i) Is at least twenty-one (21) years of age;
(ii) Has been employed full time for at least three (3) years in a pharmacy or with a wholesale distributor in a capacity related to the dispensing and distribution of, and recordkeeping relating to, prescription drugs;
(v) Does not have any convictions under any federal, state or local law relating to wholesale or retail prescription drug distribution or distribution of controlled substances; and
(viii) Does not have any felony convictions under federal, state or local law.
Equipment/Technology: Basic computer knowledge. Knowledge of automated pharmacy systems.
Language/Communication: Ability to read and communicate effectively in English. Additional languages preferred.
Mathematical Skills: Basic Math
Mental Capabilities: Ability to follow direction and make independent judgement decisions.
Interpersonal: Is capable of cooperating with colleagues and supervisors.
Performance: Works well under pressure, and can meet multiple and sometimes competing deadlines. Can maintain confidentiality. Must be motivated.
