The Pharmacy Benefits Account Manager (PBAM) serves as the operational lead for pharmacy benefit initiatives, supporting clients, consultants, account teams, and vendor partners to ensure successful execution of pharmacy strategies. This role manages the delivery of pharmacy programs, PBM evaluations, market checks, RFPs, implementation activities, contract oversight, and ongoing performance monitoring. The PBAM acts as a subject matter expert and strategic partner, translating pharmacy benefit recommendations into actionable plans while coordinating stakeholders and driving measurable client outcomes.
· Lead pharmacy-related projects and strategic initiatives from planning through implementation.
· Develop project plans, timelines, deliverables, and communication strategies.
· Design, implementation, and maintenance of standardized pharmacy team operations workflows & pharmacy analytics strategies.
· Coordinate activities between clients, brokers, consultants, PBMs, and vendors.
· Support PBM market checks, procurement efforts, and RFP processes.
· Assist with contract reviews, pricing analyses, and performance guarantee tracking.
· Serve as the pharmacy operational lead for assigned accounts.
· Own Pharmacy data collection, validation, and preparation for analysis and deliverables.
· Use of multiple tools and access points to obtain the data, with consideration in locating inconsistencies in the data and information.
· Participate in client meetings as the pharmacy subject matter expert.
· Coordinate vendor performance reviews and issue resolution.
· Analyze pharmacy claims and utilization data and prepare client reporting.
· Support development of pharmacy consulting tools, resources, and best practices.
· 4-years+ minimum work experience in Pharmacy Benefit Management (PBM) operations, account management, or underwriting, pharmacy consulting analytics, or general pharmacy benefits analytics.
· Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university or equivalent combination of education and experience.
· Intermediate knowledge of PBM Industry, stakeholders, intermediaries, and buyers.
· Experience evaluating and explaining various PBM models, pricing types and products.
· Strong understanding of PBM contracting life cycle.
· Experience managing and updating CRM tools (i.e., Salesforce, Monday.com).
· Refined verbal and written communication skills.
· Accomplished project manager who can juggle multiple priorities and adjust to dynamic environment.
· Detailed oriented and accurate in producing work deliverables, and capable of performing reasonability reviews of pharmacy reports, and general analytics content.
· Established history of working independently in remote or office environment.
· Must approach all tasks with a sense of urgency to meet deadlines assigned in a cross-functional environment.
· Must possess advanced skills in the current Microsoft Office suite of applications, specifically – MS Outlook, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, & MS Word
o Outlook – ability to manage email volume and keep calendar up to date
o Excel – the ability to learn basic & advanced data lookup & arithmetic calculative functions (V_lookups, SUMIFS, &etc.)
o PowerPoint – the ability to assemble content in standardized PowerPoint templates.
o Word – the ability to review, tracked, edit changes, and make document comparisons.
· Power Business Intelligence (BI) experience preferred
· Must have the ability and desire to be part of a collaborative team & business environment, managing multiple priorities day-to-day.
This position requires domestic travel of up to 10% of the time.
The expected salary range for this position is $80,000 to $110,000 and will be impacted by factors such as the successful candidate’s skills, experience and working location, as well as the specific position’s business line, scope and level. HUB International is proud to offer comprehensive benefit and total compensation packages which could include health/dental/vision/life/disability insurance, FSA, HAS and 401(k) accounts, paid-time-off benefits such as vacation, sick, personal, floating holidays and company holidays.
