Job Description

Neighbourly Pharmacy is looking for a full-time Pharmacy Assistant to join our team at Chaparral Remedy's Rx in Calgary, AB.
Patient Focused Care Responsibilities:
• Support pharmacists and pharmacy technicians in providing high-quality patient care
• Greet customers and answer phone calls in a professional manner
• Assist with entering, labeling, and packaging prescriptions under the supervision of a pharmacist or pharmacy technician
• Accurately count, measure, and package medications according to established protocols
• Receive and stock medication and supply shipments, monitor inventory levels, rotate stock, and support inventory audits
• Keep the pharmacy area clean and organized; safely dispose of expired medications and hazardous waste in accordance with regulations
• Perform clerical tasks such as filing, faxing, scanning, and assist with insurance claims and prescription transfers
• Basic understanding of medications (names, forms, common uses).
• Experience with insurance plans (e.g. Alberta Blu Cross) and billing systems
• Assist with daily pharmacy operations and perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications:
• Completion of a pharmacy assistant program is preferred
• 1-3 years of experience within a pharmacy
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, ability to thrive in a team environment
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with Kroll pharmacy software
• Ability to stand for long periods and occasional lifting of boxes/containers
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed

• Monday to Thursday 9am-6pm & Friday 9am-5pm
