Expectations:
The Outpatient Pharmacist is responsible for ensuring the safe, accurate, and efficient dispensing of medications while delivering exceptional patient care and customer service. This role provides direct patient counseling, collaborates with interdisciplinary healthcare teams, and supports regulatory compliance and operational excellence within the outpatient pharmacy setting. This position may require flexible scheduling and hours based on operational needs.
EDUCATION:
Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy or higher degree required.
Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree from an accredited school of pharmacy preferred.
EXPERIENCE/TRAINING:
Minimum of one (1) year of relevant pharmacist experience.
Minimum of two (2) years of retail or outpatient pharmacy experience preferred.
LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS:
Required:
Current unrestricted Registered Pharmacist (RPh) license issued by the California State Board of Pharmacy
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Provider certification from the American Heart Association
Preferred:
Immunization administration certification
SKILLS:
Knowledge of outpatient pharmacy operations and medication dispensing processes.
Understanding of insurance verification, prior authorization, and third-party billing processes.
Knowledge of outpatient pharmacy dispensing software and electronic health record systems.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to medication safety and regulatory compliance.
Effective communication and patient counseling skills.
Ability to supervise and support pharmacy staff and learners.
Proper cash handling procedures to maintain financial accuracy and security.
Strong organizational, problem-solving, and customer service skills.

Pay Range: The estimated base rate for this position is $69.26 - $105.63.
Additional individual compensation may be available for this role through differentials, extra shift incentives, bonuses, etc. Base pay is only a portion of the total rewards package, and a comprehensive benefits program is available for qualifying positions.
