Pharmacist (Karachi), Outreach PharmacyEntity: Aga Khan University HospitalLocation: Karachi, PakistanIntroduction:The Aga Khan University Hospital in addition to its five Hospitals creates access through its Outreach Services which include Clinical Laboratories, Outpatient Medical Centres, Pharmacy services, Home Health and other services. Outreach Services are designed to provide primary to secondary healthcare services to patients near their homes and are present in several cities across Pakistan. Outpatient Medical Centres offer a range of specialty clinics including Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, Endocrinology, Dermatology, Gastroenterology, Cardiopulmonary, Orthopedics, Obstetrics and Gynecology, Pediatrics and Physiotherapy, and cater to children, adults, and elderly patients for general health checks or specific disease consultations.As an equal opportunity employer, AKU believes in promoting a diverse and inclusive culture and is committed to adopt appropriate standards for safeguarding and promoting a respectful relationship with and between diverse workforce of its faculty, staff, trainees, volunteers, beneficiaries, wider communities, and other stakeholders with whom it works, including children and vulnerable adults and expects all employees/trainees and partners to share this commitment.Responsibilities:You will be responsible to:dispense drugs in the inpatient, outpatient, and ambulatory pharmaciesreview and process physician orders for accurate therapeutic dosemonitor lab reports for proper indication of antibiotics, drug-drug interaction, duplication of same class etc.ensure timely delivery of medication to nursing units and patientsensure the accuracy of the label before dispensingcomplete expiry of drug list on accurate and timely basisassist in patient counseling for outpatient prescription and maintenance of cashprepare sterile injection, bulk compounding, and monitoring of chemo critical listmanage inventory and expiry of the product.

Requirements:You should have:a Doctorate / Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy from a recognized universitytraineeship experience in Retail Pharmacy / medium / large hospital or preferably one year experience in the similar capacityfamiliarity with hospital pharmacy functioningsound knowledge of physiology, pharmacology and pharmaceuticalfamiliarity with locally available drugs, pharmaceutical and their indicationsability to communicate with medical professionalswillingness to work in shift duties.Comprehensive employment reference checks will be conducted.
