Alfred Care Group is seeking an experienced and motivated pharmacist to join the Pharmacy Digital Health team. This is a unique opportunity to join one of the most progressive hospital pharmacy services in the country and practice at top of scope in a supportive environment.

About the Department

Alfred Care Group Pharmacy Department is well recognised for high quality and innovative patient- focused services, education and training programmes as well as significant research output. This service operates over 4 sites, and continually advocates for postgraduate learning and research interests, with supportive partnerships and expert mentors available to foster staff development.

The department also has a leading Digital Health strategy, playing a pivotal role in managing the electronic medication management system within our comprehensive electronic medical record. This is complemented by a strong clinical presence and a Centre for Medicine Use and Safety program to achieve a considered, safe and financially responsible approach to medication management within Alfred Heath. 

About the Team

The Pharmacy Digital Health team is an integral part of the pharmacy department as a whole and critical to the functioning of the broader Alfred Care Group network. Comprising a mixture of pharmacists, business analysts and technical experts, the PDH team has responsibilities spanning across all clinical information systems with medication components. This includes the Cerner Electronic Medical Record (EMR), Cerner Oncology, iPharmacy, Omnicell Automated Dispensing Machines, PowerTrials and Smart Infusion Pumps, all of which work in an integrated manner to deliver optimised patient care across the health network. 

About the Role

We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated pharmacist with experience in clinical informatics to join our Pharmacy Digital Health team. You will work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to achieve the best medication management outcomes for individual patients. You will contribute to improving medication management on a larger scale through contributing to practice based research projects and service and practice improvement work. This role will be an integral part in providing the Pharmacy Digital Health service in association with the Pharmacy Executive and Senior Leadership Teams.  It will be involved in the development and maintenance of the Pharmacy Digital Health systems as described above.

  • Ability to liaise with individuals from other departments including medical, nursing and administrative staff 

Qualifications & Experience Required

  • Registered pharmacist in Australia

  • Experience in clinical pharmacy in a hospital setting highly desirable

  • Experience in Clinical Informatics desirable, but not essential 

  • Excellent skills in Information Technology 

  • Relevant post-graduate qualifications desirable
