Pharmacistsare responsible forduties including but not limitedto:order entry,accuratedispensing of medications, renal dosing interventions, pharmacokinetic dosing, patient counseling, and supervising students and technicians

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Review orders for accuracy, dosage, safety, drug interactions, duplicatetherapyand allergies

  • Accurately verify and/or enter orders into Cerner

  • Supervise technicians and students

  • Attend codes

  • Perform Pharmacy calculations

  • Check medication and intravenous preparations for accuracy

  • Prepare and oversee the preparation of sterile compounds using aseptic technique

  • Maintainthe sterile compounding area usingappropriate cleaningprotocols and documentation

  • Adhere to the safe handling of hazardous medication practices

  • Adhere to departmental and hospital policies and procedures

  • Participate in cost reduction and inventory control measures

  • Perform functions using hospital computer systems (e.g.Cerner, Meditech, Pyxis, etc.)

  • Promotes a clean and safe environment of care,utilizingthe SAFE error prevention habits

  • Provides the highest standard of privacy and confidentiality in matters involving patients, coworkers, and the hospital by abiding by the Standards of Conduct

Required Qualifications

Education and Training

  • Graduate of an ACPE accredited Pharmacy School with a PharmD degree.

  • Pharmacist license in the State of Illinois

Work Shift Details:

Various, Days, evenings, weekends, overnight, alternating weekends (roughly every 3rd), various holidays

The final pay rate offered may be more than the posted range based on several factors including but not limited to: licensure, certifications, work experience, education, knowledge, demonstrated abilities, internal equity, market data, and more.

The expected pay for this position is listed below:

$52.00 - $65.00
