Pay rates are based on education, skill, experience level and internal
equity. Internal equity considerations include an assessment of the

a subject matter expert in the public health field. The CDC

Dispense prescription medications to clients who are eligible for
Mecklenburg County services and provide medication counseling as
requested. This position participates in the provision of pharmaceutical
care and maintains inventories of all stock ordered through the pharmacy.

Location: Clinic Location can vary depending on need Schedule: Monday-Friday 8am - pm, Wednesdays 10am - 7pm. Note: Weekend and after hours work may be required for unplanned contact investigations or public health events.


Essential Functions
-Review orders for drug therapy and monitor therapy for drug choice, dosage, drug interactions, adverse drug reactions, and formulary adherence
-Prepare and dispense medication for patients eligible for and receiving services from Mecklenburg County
-Counsel patients on medication information and interactions
-Serve as a drug information resource to nurses, physicians, and other healthcare workers
-Maintain inventory of medications and order replacements and ensure adequate stock for clinic operations
-Assist with collection of statistical data for the Department
-Assist with the implementation of identified pharmacy initiatives as applicable to the department and additional clinical requests as needed
-Assure compliance with 340b regulations and 340b application/renewal processes
-Participate in public health emergency response activities as needed

Minimum Qualifications
Experience:
-Minimum of one year of experience

Education:
-Graduation from an accredited school of pharmacy

of relevant education and relevant experience accepted?: N/A

Licenses and Certifications
-Licensed in the state of North Carolina as a Pharmacist or eligible for reciprocity
-May require a valid North Carolina or South Carolina driver's license

Preferred Qualifications
-Immunization certification preferred

Knowledge of
-Pharmacotherapy
-340b and NC Board of Pharmacy regulations
-Guidelines for care according to the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS), Division of Public Health Agreement Addenda

-Communication, interpersonal skills as applied to interaction with coworkers, supervisor, the general public, etc. sufficient to exchange or convey information and to receive work direction

Computer Skills
Proficiency using pharmacy software and Electronic Medical Record (EMR)
