The pharmacist provides quality pharmaceutical care by monitoring patients’ medication therapy and assist in developing a clinical pharmacy program. They will also recommend appropriate drug therapy and serve as an educational resource to patients and other health care professionals. The pharmacist also utilizes a computer system to enter orders, dispense medications and intravenous solutions to patients’ in an accurate and timely manner and supervises technical employees. The pharmacist checks all technical work before doses are dispensed. The emergency medicine pharmacy resident provides pharmacy services during acute events including but not limited to Code – 99, Code – 99P, and Code – 88 events.
Qualifications
Education: Graduate from an ACPE-accredited Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) program. The applicant must be a citizen of the U.S.A., or hold a visa allowing for the completion of the residency year Must have successfully completed an ASHP-regulated PGY1.
