Job Description

Prepare and dispense medications for pediatric patients and provides consultation on drug and pharmacy related matters, under the supervision of pharmacy preceptors and Residency Program Director. Essential Functions:

  • Dispenses medications and other pharmaceutical supplies as prescribed by physicians or health care providers.
  • Maintains accurate and complete records of medications dispensed and prescriptions filled.
  • Monitors medication inventory levels and orders supplies as needed.
  • Provides medication information and education to patients and health care providers.
  • Collaborates with other health care professionals to ensure safe and effective medication use.
  • Maintains a clean and organized pharmacy environment.


Education Requirement:

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college of pharmacy, required.
  • Doctor of Pharmacy, preferred.
  • All trainees functioning in NCH facilities must be in a program that has been approved by the NCH GMEC (Graduate Medical Education Committee) or in an approved residency program of an institution with which NCH has an educational affiliation agreement.


Licensure Requirement:

Licensure, or licensure-eligibility, to practice pharmacy in the state of Ohio by September 1st of the year starting at NCH

Experience:

  • If completing a one-year, PGY2 residency, the Pharmacy Resident must have completed an ASHP-accredited PGY1 residency program.
  • Meets requirements established by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME), other applicable professional organizations, and NCH, for residency training, meets the requirements for the Ohio State Medical Board for licensure as a resident, and has made application to NCH for participation in the Program.
