What you will do

We are seeking a highly detail-oriented Residential Mortgage Loan (RML) Transaction Management Associate to support the end-to-end execution of whole loan residential mortgage acquisitions, from trade confirmation through funding, closing, collateral delivery, and post-close trailing documentation. This role sits at the intersection of investments, operations, servicing, custodians, and counterparties, ensuring operational precision, data integrity, and timely settlement of RML transactions within a global asset management platform.

The ideal candidate brings hands-on experience with whole loan trade execution combined with exceptional technical skills and a strong interest in leveraging AI, Power BI, and other data tools to enhance transparency, scalability, and control.

This position follows a hybrid work model, with working 3 days in the Newark, NJ office and 2 days remote.

What you can expect

  • Manage the full lifecycle of residential mortgage whole loan transactions, from trade confirmation through funding and trailing documents

  • Review and validate trade confirmations, prepare trade allocation recommendations, and funding schedules to ensure alignment with executed terms

  • Coordinate with sellers, originators, servicers, trustees, custodians, bailees, internal investment teams, and legal to facilitate timely and accurate closings

  • Track and resolve trade breaks, funding discrepancies, settlement issues and trailing documents

  • Ensure compliance with transaction-specific requirements, closing timelines, and operational controls

Bailee, Collateral & Trailing Document Management

  • Oversee bailee arrangements, including bailee letters, collateral certification, interim collateral control, and release upon custodial delivery

  • Track, review, and reconcile collateral packages (notes, mortgages, assignments, allonges, title policies, etc.)

  • Manage trailing document pipelines, including follow-ups, exception tracking, aging analysis, and resolution

  • Partner with custodians and other vendors to ensure timely final certification

  • Maintain accurate documentation status across internal systems and reporting tools

Cash Flow, Servicing & Remittance Oversight

  • Support onboarding of loans to servicers and loan management platforms

  • Perform oversight of monthly remittance and cash flow reconciliations across principal, interest, fees, and advances

  • Assess whether loans qualify as early payoffs or early payment defaults and process repurchase or indemnity payments from sellers

  • Validate servicer reporting against expected cash flow models and deal terms

  • Identify, investigate, and resolve cash flow discrepancies and servicing exceptions

Data Management, Reconciliation & Controls

  • Review and validate loan-level data at acquisition and throughout the loan lifecycle

  • Reconcile data across front-office models (e.g., Aladdin), accounting systems, servicing platforms, custodians, and deal tapes

  • Perform QA on periodic data extracts and investor reporting

  • Support audit requests, regulatory reporting, and internal controls testing

  • Maintain detailed documentation of processes, workflows, and operational controls

Technology, Automation & Analytics

  • Leverage Excel, Power BI, SQL, and other databases to build dashboards and reporting tools that enhance portfolio visibility

  • Utilize Microsoft 365 (Excel, SharePoint, Teams, etc.) to streamline workflows and documentation tracking

  • Partner with technology and data teams to improve operational scalability, automation, and system integrations

What you will bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field

  • 2–5+ years of experience in residential mortgage loan operations, RML transaction management, structured products, or asset management

  • Direct experience executing RML purchases (experience on all steps from trade confirmation through closing strongly preferred)

  • Hands-on exposure to RML bailments, custodial delivery, and trailing document management

  • Strong understanding of mortgage loan cash flows, servicing practices, and collateral requirements

  • Advanced Excel skills required; experience with Power BI, SQL, Python, or AI-enabled tools strongly preferred

  • Familiarity with Aladdin, loan management platforms, and accounting systems a plus

Prudential is required by state specific laws to include the salary range for this role when hiring a resident in applicable locations. The annual base salary range for this role is from $120,000 to $135,000. Specific pricing for the role may vary within the above range based on many factors including geographic location, candidate experience, and skills. This role is also eligible for additional compensation and/or benefits including a competitive, discretionary annual cash bonus opportunity. Eligibility to participate in the discretionary annual incentive programs are subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance.
