Context & Environment

•Office-based activities focused on pre-drill well preparation, post-well documentation and interpretation, and subsurface data integration with occasional assignments on offshore drilling rigs.

•Multidisciplinary and multicultural teams, requiring effective communication and integration across diverse technical disciplines and cultural backgrounds.

Activities

•Participate actively in Company HSE programs and adheres to corporate policies, procedures and regulatory requirements.

Reservoir Petrophysics:

•QA/ QC of logs, depth matching LWD, core data and wireline logs, and apply borehole and environmental corrections to raw log data to improve interpretation accuracy.

•Estimate and evaluate petrophysical parameters by integrating log, core, and dynamic data to populate static and dynamic reservoir models, supporting initialization of hydrocarbon saturations.

•Collaborate with reservoir engineers and geologists to design and execute a wide range of analytical programs—including Routine Core Analysis (RCA), Special Core Analysis (SCAL), petrography, sedimentological description, XRD, XRF, geomechanics, geochemistry, and biostratigraphy—aimed at reducing uncertainties in reservoir characterization.

•Develop saturation height models, including estimation of fluid contacts and free water levels.

•Identify and delineate petrophysical facies types, assessing their relationship to lithotypes and sedimentological facies.

•Validate the propagation of petrophysical properties and parameter ranges within reservoir models, ensuring alignment and consistency with borehole log interpretation and core data analysis.

•Identify and evaluate key uncertainties in petrophysical content within reservoir models, mitigating associated risks to projects and business decisions through targeted appraisal measures.

•Create, maintain, and continuously improve formation evaluation databases to support reservoir characterization and decision making.

Operations Petrophysics:

•Recommend cost efficient logging programs to ensure proper evaluation of drilled wells. Coordinate and supervise logging operations, perform quality control to ensure contractor compliance, and conduct petrophysical analyses to support operational decisions (e.g., P&A, casing runs, perforation interval selection).

•Create, maintain and improve the formation evaluation databases

•Oversee the preparation and management of tender documents for coring, electrical logging, logging while drilling activities, well- testing, core analysis and fluid analysis.

•Contribute to well preparation activities, including drafting Well Statements of Requirements (WSOR) and presenting formation evaluation programs to local authorities and partners to secure timely approvals.

•Maintain open communication across the organization and with external stakeholders to provide and receive technical support, thereby enhancing operational integration.

•Engage with service companies to stay updated on the latest logging tools available, ensuring informed recommendations and appropriate tool selection for diverse operational environments.

Candidate Profile

-Education background: BSc in geology or higher degree (preferably Geology or Petroleum Geology) with a CPGA 3.5 or higher.

-Professional experience (in years): 0-5 years of operational geology experience; prior exposure to wellsite operations and proficiency in petrophysical interpretation using industry standard software are considered advantageous.

-Learning and initiatives: Demonstrated willingness to learn, proactive in addressing and solving operational challenges, and advancing petrophysical interpretation; strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

-Teamwork and communication: Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across multidisciplinary teams with the ability to engage contractors (wireline, coring, core & fluid laboratories), internal teams (geologists, geophysicists, reservoir engineers, drilling, procurement and study teams), and external stakeholders (JV partners, and regulators).

-Language proficiency: Excellent communication skills, fluent in English.

Additional Information

•Ensure that all data acquisition activities align with well objectives and established procedures. The collected datasets are sufficient and reliable for comprehensive petrophysical synthesis.

•Provide timely petrophysical input to support critical operational decisions and ensuring both safety and reservoir objectives are met.

•Ensure regular technical engagement of with OT, JV partners and Petronas Regulator to comply with the validation processes and development sanction gates (One Tech process and Petronas MR’s)
