PET | Kettering | Full-time | First Shift
The PET Technologist performs diagnostic PET procedures using positron emitting radionuclides and through operating sensitive radiation detection equipment (PET or PET/CT scanner) Individual performs under limited supervision. This individual performs PET or hybrid PET/CT scanning procedures in the Positron Emission Tomography section for the Kettering Health System. Job Requirements Minimum Work Experience Minimum 1 year previous experience in a hospital setting is preferred. Experience in an active PET department with image co-registration knowledge required. Minimum EducationMinimum of an Associate Degree required Required LicensesOther Requires a registered or certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist through the American Registry of Radiological Technologists, ARRT(N) or Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB).Ohio license to practice as a Nuclear Medicine TechnologistPreferred at hire that the technologist has successfully passed the NMTCB-PET exam and remain certified in PET specialty by retaking exam every 7 years based on the requirements set forth by the NMTCB Specialty Board. Certification is required within 24 months of hire if not already obtained. Required Skills Ability to work well with physicians, technologists, and all hospital personnel. Ability to interact with all patients professionally and with positive attitude. Irregular or extended hours with potential weekend, evening, and on-call responsibilities. Ability to work independently with limited supervision. Produce quality work while meeting multiple demands
