RAYUS Radiology is looking for a PET & Nuclear Medicine Technologist to join our team. We are challenging the status quo by shining light on radiology and making it a critical first step in diagnosis and proper treatment. Come join us and shine brighter together! As a PET & Nuclear Medicine Technologist, you will be responsible for operating imaging equipment (Gamma cameras) to create diagnostic images of a patient's body. This role prepares radioactive drugs and administers them to the patient, usually through an intravenous line, and prepare the exam for analysis through post processing and image enhancement. Ensure safety of both patients and team members by strictly adhering to all state and federal guidelines. This is a part-time position, working 24 hours per week, Monday & Tuesday from 7:00 AM-7:30 PM.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

(90%) Gamma Camera Diagnostic Imaging

  1. Performs high quality diagnostic studies according to RAYUS protocols
  2. Clearly and patiently explain the procedure to the patient and answer their questions
  3. Assist the interpreting physician with the most accurate diagnosis in identifying any underlying pathology and/or abnormalities.
  1. Proficiently perform all Nuclear and PET studies, including but not limited to, the administration of all radio pharmaceuticals (isotopes) in the proper dosage, ability to monitor the characteristics and functionality of tissues & organs which they localize or have an apparent "uptake"
  1. Must have an understanding and maintain good practice in the proper disposal of all sharps, biohazardous waste, and the proper handling of radioactive materials
  2. Understand and correlate the accuracy of prescriptions and their appropriate clinical indications, and what to do when they do not match.
  3. Independently operate and adjust nuclear medicine cameras and PET/CT equipment as needed to ensure high quality diagnostic images
  4. Run daily and weekly quality control testing to maintain equipment accuracy and ensure functionality
  5. Collect and provide detailed patient medical history
  6. Participate in the maintenance of ACR accreditation when needed.
  7. Proactively identify and report any/all equipment malfunctions
  8. Maintain orderly and clean exam rooms
  9. Ensure all exam rooms are well stocked with essential supplies

(10%) Other Duties as Assigned

Qualifications

Required:

  1. Bachelor's degree in Nuclear Medicine Technology; may consider an associate's degree from an accredited program with applicable experience.
  2. Graduate of an American Medical Association (AMA) approved school of radiography
  3. Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) Certification, in good standing
  4. Licensed Radiological Technologist in the appropriate state, if applicable, i.e. for the State of Florida, must maintain certification (licensure) by earning required NMTCB & Florida State CME's
  5. Certification in imaging specialty
  6. Must have sufficient training and experience to competently perform Nuclear Medicine procedures independently
  7. Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification
  8. Certification in ACLS (Advance Cardiac Life Support)

Preferred:

  1. Bilingual
  2. Two (2) years' PET/Nuclear Medicine imaging experience
  3. Registered/licensed in PET and/or PET/CT
