Lincoln Square Veterinary Hospital is looking for a dependable, compassionate, and hardworking Kennel Assistant to join our team.

What You’ll Do

  • Provide daily care, handling, feeding, walking, and monitoring of hospitalized and boarding pets
  • Safely handle and restrain animals, including large or anxious pets
  • Assist technicians and doctors with patient care and minor procedures
  • Clean and maintain kennels, treatment areas, surgical equipment, and the hospital
  • Follow proper cleaning, disinfection, and isolation protocols
  • Vacuum, mop, change garbage, dust, and follow daily, weekly, and monthly task lists
  • Stock and maintain hospital supplies
  • Assist with laundry and other daily hospital tasks
  • Provide compassionate and professional customer service
  • Use computers for basic record keeping and hospital tasks
  • Follow directions, work independently, and recognize when help is needed

What You’ll Bring

  • Previous animal care or veterinary experience is a plus, but we are willing to train the right person
  • Comfort working with dogs and cats of all sizes and temperaments
  • The ability to safely lift at least 30 lbs
  • Reliability, a strong work ethic, and the ability to work as part of a team
  • Comfort asking questions and learning new skills
  • Strong attention to cleanliness and detail
  • Basic computer, math, spelling, and organizational skills
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • A positive attitude and genuine compassion for animals
