Salary (Actual Salary): £23,528 - £24,303 (NJC Grade 6)

Working Pattern: 35 hours per week - Monday to Friday 8.00am to 3.30pm

About the Academy:

Outwood Academy Redcar welcomes students aged 11-16, located in the coastal town of Redcar near Middlesbrough in the North-East region.

About the Role:

Outwood Academy Redcar seeks to appoint a colleague to coordinate our bespoke provisions to our wonderful student community. You will join our existing Inclusion team and become a member of the Outwood family. Working as part of the Inclusion team, you will promote the learning and welfare of vulnerable students with a view to achieving full integration back into mainstream school, following a measurable provision delivered by yourself. This is a challenging but rewarding role for the right candidate. You will work closely with the senior leadership team and the Inclusion team to manage the room and provide appropriate and personalised timetables for individual students and groups.

We are sure you already have the aspiration to 'transform lives' and this role will allow you to explore the possibilities of delivering alternative courses to cohorts of students to provide them with relevant qualifications. We believe that all teaching and support staff posts within our Family of Schools are key posts in terms of supporting student success and achievement across a broad range of subjects and experiences. You will identify student cohorts for the alternative curriculum and deliver relevant courses to provide them with necessary qualifications. A core component of the role is extensive external liaison, acting as the single point of contact for accessing specialist support services such as the Social and Youth Services, the Education Welfare Service, and the Probation Service. You will develop and implement time-bound action plans with SMART targets to remove barriers to learning, establish and maintain supportive mentoring relationships, and undertake necessary student testing (e.g., Lucid).

The role involves supporting and encouraging pupils toward further education, apprenticeships, or employment.

Essential requirements include experience of working in a school environment with young people who have faced specific difficulties and vulnerabilities. Candidates must demonstrate experience and knowledge of issues affecting students and young people, enabling them to offer supportive assistance.

Key skills include the ability to effectively communicate with a wide range of audiences, excellent time management and organisation skills, and proficiency in using standard ICT packages. Crucially, the post holder must be able to develop programmes of work that will develop self-esteem and confidence.
