Salary Range: $17.50 - $21.50 Hourly

Job Shift: VariablePersonal Trainer – YMCA at Salemtowne
YMCA at Salemtowne, an off-site extension of the Fulton Family YMCA, is hiring an experienced and certified Personal Trainer to work with older adults in a continuing care retirement community. This is a rewarding opportunity to help adults ages 62–100+ stay strong, mobile, and confident in a welcoming, relationship-centered environment.
Responsibilities include:
- Conducting fitness assessments and exercise testing
- Creating and delivering individualized wellness and exercise plans
- Providing one-on-one instruction and motivation for residents of varying abilities
- Building strong, supportive relationships with residents
- Maintaining knowledge of fitness and wellness best practices for older adults
- Confirming and redeeming personal training sessions
- Following YMCA policies and responding to emergency situations
Required:
- Current personal training certification (NASM, ISSA, ACSM, AFAA, or equivalent)
- Extensive experience working specifically with older adults
Preferred:
- Group exercise or yoga certification

Qualifications2+ years of education in Exercise Science preferred; or equivalent combination of training and experience
Current CPR, First Aid and Oxygen (ASHI); or willing to obtain within first 30 days
Training experience and expertise in Senior Fitness and Wellness
Willingness to work with all ages and all abilities.
Strong interpersonal, communication and social media skills
Current nationally-recognized Personal Training Certifications, such as:
ACSM
AFAA
CSCS
NETA
NASM
ACE
