Personal Trainers are welcoming, caring, and exceptional fitness experts dedicated to providing comprehensive, safe, and professional training sessions. They are skilled in delivering one-on-one, two-on-one, and small group (up to 6 participants) educational fitness programs for individuals of all ages and abilities. With a motivating and focused approach, Personal Trainers guide clients in achieving specific fitness goals. Our team is passionate about helping others attain optimal health and happiness, fostering a friendly and supportive environment that builds lasting relationships within the community.

Under the direction of the Fitness Manager, Personal Trainers assist member-clients in establishing and reaching their fitness and wellness goals through education, motivation, and leadership. They play a vital role in the overall success of the Recreation Center of Highland Park by embodying the mission, vision, and values of the Park District of Highland Park.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide safe, comprehensive, and goal-driven fitness sessions tailored to individual clients.
  • Monitor and adjust clients' use of exercises and equipment for effectiveness and safety.
  • Offer welcoming and caring instruction to ensure members feel valued and confident.
  • Train individuals of all ages and abilities, promoting continuous growth and development.
  • Prepare for, lead, and maintain punctual sessions.
  • Track client paperwork accurately, including recording training sessions for payment purposes.
  • Maintain a flexible schedule, with the ability to work early mornings, evenings, and weekends.

Supervisory Responsibilities: This job has no supervisory responsibilities.



Qualifications

Education and/or

Experience:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent of education and experience.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

American Red Cross CPR/AED certification

Fitness certification preferred: ACE, ACSM, NASM, NSCA or similar
