Personal Support Worker (PSW)
Location: Whitby, ON
Pay Rate: Up to $21.00/hour
About the Opportunity
We are seeking a compassionate, experienced, and reliable Personal Support Worker (PSW) to support a female senior client living with Dementia and Alzheimer's disease in Whitby, Ontario.
This role is ideal for a dedicated caregiver who is passionate about providing person-centered care, promoting independence, and enhancing quality of life in a home setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with personal care, including bathing, grooming, dressing, and hygiene support
- Support activities of daily living and encourage independence where possible
- Prepare nutritious meals and assist with meal planning
- Provide companionship and meaningful engagement activities
- Monitor client safety, comfort, and overall well-being
- Assist with mobility and transfers as required
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe living environment
- Follow care plans and report changes in the client's condition
- Communicate effectively with family members and the care team
Qualifications & Requirements
- Certified Personal Support Worker (PSW) or equivalent healthcare training
- Minimum 1 year of experience providing care to seniors
- Experience supporting clients with Dementia and Alzheimer's disease preferred
- Valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Compassionate, patient, dependable, and professional
- Ability to work independently while maintaining a collaborative approach to care
- Current First Aid and CPR certification is considered an asset
