Job Description

  • Casual work available -Newcastle, Maitland, Lake Macquarie (surrounding suburbs)
  • Work with great people
  • Great training and support

Hi there! We’re Forward. For over 60 years we have supported people with spinal cord injuries to live their best life.

We need to support our team members to take leave, have a sick day, and just live life in general, so we’re looking to build our casual pool.

Are you someone who:

  • Has time available to pick up shifts around your other commitments to work, studying, or caring for others,
  • Can support people in their home,
  • Can build professional relationships based on trust,
  • Can support people with their day-to-day needs,
  • Has experience supporting people with disability or older people?

Yes! We would love to meet you.

If you don’t have experience yet, and you’re studying in a health-related area like nursing, psychology, occupational therapy, or paramedical studies let’s have a chat and see if we can make something work.

It’s important to us that you feel like you’re a valued member of our team. We give:

  • Great training so you can feel confident and capable. This includes training with our clinical team and buddy shifts. We don’t want to throw you alone in the deep end!
  • A great team to join so you feel supported and connected. Our Newcastle/ Hunter team is a pretty amazing group!

There are some other things you’ll need, like an NDIS Worker Screening Check, a First Aid Certificate, and a drivers licence. You won’t need to drive your own car to transport clients.

Apply today and we look forward to meeting you!

Please note: Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted.

Forward Ability Support is an Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) Employer and people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds are encouraged to apply. Successful applicants will be required to consent to a pre-employment health assessment, reference checks and an NDIS Worker Screening Check.
