The Technical Operations Field Technician is the first IT responder to client issues within the Columbus Consolidated Government (CCG). The Field Technician is expected to diagnose and troubleshoot common issues with client machines, network devices, networks, and other CCG technology equipment as necessary. They are expected to coordinate with other divisions within the CCG Information Technology department to solve more complex issues. Additionally, the Field Technician is expected to be able to provide front-line customer support during times of emergency.
Knowledge and level of competency are commonly associated with completing specialized training in the occupational field, in addition to basic skills typically associated with a high school education. Sufficient experience to understand the basic principles relevant to the position's primary duties, usually associated with completing an apprenticeship/internship or having had a similar position for one to two years.
The work is typically performed while sitting, standing, stooping, walking, bending, or crouching. The employee must frequently lift light and heavy objects, use tools or equipment requiring a high degree of dexterity, and distinguish between shades of color.
