The Personal Computer Services Supervisor oversees the daily duties of the Technical Operations Personal Computer Services Technicians and is responsible for handling more complicated issues. Additionally, the Personal Computer Services Supervisor will work closely with other divisions of IT and other CCG departments as an IT liaison for some technical matters. The Personal Computer Services Supervisor will monitor their assigned field technicians and ensure work is being completed in a timely and professional manner within the expectations of the IT department. The Field Technician Supervisor will also be responsible for procuring small items such as networking wire, tools, or other necessary items to complete the work.

  • Maintains computer equipment and programs used by Columbus Consolidated Government employees.
  • Troubleshoots and repairs problems on personal computer equipment that are beyond the knowledge of the other members of the Personal Computer Services team.
  • Assigns service requests to members of the team.
  • Maintains the accuracy of the equipment database.
  • Coordinates moving equipment inside and outside of departments to accommodate employee promotions and reassignments.
  • Maintains and expands job knowledge, skills, and abilities.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field is required. Experience sufficient to thoroughly understand the work of subordinate positions and to be able to answer questions and resolve problems, usually associated with one to three years experience or service.

Supplemental information

The work is typically performed while sitting, standing, or stooping. The employee must frequently lift heavy objects, climb ladders, use tools or equipment requiring a high degree of dexterity, and distinguish between shades of color. Additionally, the following physical abilities are required:

  • Pushing – use upper extremities to press against objects with force, or thrust forward, downward, outward.
  • Reaching – extending hands or arms in any direction.

  • Speaking – expressing ideas with spoken word, convey detailed, important instructions accurately, concisely.
  • Standing – for sustained periods of time.
  • Stooping – bending body downward, forward at waist, with full motion of lower extremities and back.

  • Visual Acuity 1 - prepare, analyze data, transcribing, computer terminal, extensive reading.
