The Mt. Lebanon School District is seeking applicants for the position of Personal Care Assistant at Howe Elementary School.

This is a full-time, on-site, permanent position.

This assignment will work directly with students with special needs primarily in an Autistic Support assignment, but may be support other students/classrooms as needed.

Schedule:

Monday-Friday scheduled between 8:00 AM and 4:00 PM

7 Hours/Day plus a 30 minute unpaid lunch

190 days during the regular school year (summers, weekends and holidays off)

Rates:

Starting wages are either $16.69 per hour (approx. $22,197 annual) or $16.79 per hour (approx. $22,330 annual), for new hires to the District, depending upon previous school district experience. The salary for the 2026-2027 school year will be prorated based on start date.

This position is paid salary with a fixed per pay amount disbursed twice per month on a September through August pay cycle.

QUALIFICATIONS

In order to be eligible for special education support positions, applicants must meet the following criteria:

Be a high school graduate or possess a GED,

AND

1) Have completed at least 2 years of postsecondary study,

OR

2) Possess an Associates degree or higher,

OR

3) Complete a series of job-based trainings during the first year of employment, and continuing education credit hours during subsequent years

In order to be eligible for employment, the following clearances must be furnished and approved for hire at time of job offer:

• Pennsylvania Child Abuse History Clearance (Act 151)
• Pennsylvania State Police Criminal Record Check (Act 34)
• FBI Federal Criminal History Record (Act 114)

The following additional trainings and forms are required upon hire:

• Act 126 Child/Student Abuse Recognition and Reporting
• Arrest or Conviction Form (PDE 6004) (Act 24)
• School Personnel Health Record (Physical with TB Test)
• Sexual Misconduct/Abuse Disclosure Information (Act 168)
