The Personal Aide reports to the leadership team and is expected to support residents with personal care and daily living activities while maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment. A key part of your role will be to provide compassionate support, promote dignity, and actively engage residents in meaningful daily routines.

Wage Rate:
The starting wage rate is $19.47/hour

Responsibilities:

  • Assisting residents with personal care such as toileting, bathing, and dressing as needed or requested
  • Responding to resident call bells in a timely manner
  • Assisting with meals and feeding as required
  • Performing light housekeeping duties including changing garbage, linens, and maintaining resident suites
  • Completing scheduled deep cleaning of resident suites
  • Following care plans and reporting any changes in resident condition or behaviour to the UCP or Charge Nurse
  • Completing both paper and electronic documentation as assigned
  • Supporting a safe, clean, and comfortable living environment for residents
  • Respecting resident privacy, dignity, and confidentiality at all times
  • Performing delegated tasks and supporting the care team as needed

Qualifications:
The qualifications needed to join our family are as follows:

  • PSW Certification preferred, but not required
  • Experience in Retirement or Long-Term Care preferred
  • Ability to communicate effectively with residents, families, and team members
  • Demonstrates empathy, compassion, and a genuine interest in resident care
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to complete tasks in a timely manner
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Physically and mentally able to perform assigned duties
  • Ability to read, write, and understand English (verbal and written)
  • Must have a clear vulnerable sector screen (within 6 months), TB test results (within 6 months), and provide three supervisory references
