
Cory is one of the UK’s leading waste management and recycling companies.
We operate the Riverside Energy from Waste facility, which comprises of Riverside 1 and 2 with five process lines and two steam turbine generators. Combined, they are one of the largest and most efficient EfW facilities in the UK, processing around 1.5 million tonnes of non-recyclable waste each year. Our future decarbonisation strategy is centred around creating a decarbonisation hub at Riverside using carbon capture solutions to decarbonise waste from local communities, reusing the energy extracted to power heat networks and provide baseload electricity.
We are currently recruiting for the position of Permit Office Assistant, based at the Riverside Energy from Waste Facility in Belvedere.
Forming part of the Permit Office team, the holder of this role will report to the Permit Office Coordinator and assist them with the day-to-day operation of the Permit Office at the Riverside EfW facility. The role has been implemented to ready for the Permit Office function for the inclusion of the R2 asset into the Riverside operation in 2026.
The role will provide an excellent opportunity for the right candidate to broaden their knowledge of the plant process, EfW safety rules and operations outage management.

We’re looking for someone with experience in a Permit Office or Plant Operations environment — ideally within energy, waste, utilities, or industrial sectors. You’ll need to be confident working in a fast-paced, safety-critical setting and have a strong understanding of site protocols.
