St George’s International School is seeking to appoint a Teacher of Piano to join us inSeptember 2026on afixed-term contract to cover staff absence (approximately 8 months, across two academic terms)

To implement and deliver individual piano lessons, according to the age, ability and aptitude of the students taught in the school, while maintaining the positive ethos and core values of the school, both inside and outside the teaching studio at all times. We are looking for an exceptionalteacher who has a proven track record in delivering outstanding teaching to pupils aged 7-18 and who is committed to excellence, continuous improvement, inspiration and enthusiasm. An ability to coach chamber music ensembles or other skills may also be beneficial.

• Teach students in individual lessons
• Teach students of all ranges and abilities
• Be a practitioner with exceptional drive and energy
• High expectations of him or herself and his/her students and is committed to ensuring every student has a positive learning experience
• Adhere to departmental assessment policies and practices
• Act as a role model for the students and as an ambassador for the school both in the way he/she behaves and observes the school’s dress code
• Be a team player, relating well to colleagues and parents
• Be internationally minded and supportive of our multilingual setting

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:

• Demonstrated professional experience and recognised qualification in piano
• Right to work in Switzerland
• Certified Teaching Status
• Strong subject knowledge in piano
• Ability to set clear expectations and ambitious learning goals
• Adaptable teaching style incorporating feedback
• Ability to assess student performance and learning effectiveness
• Excellent preparation and lesson planning
• Experience teaching secondary and post-16 students
• Previous experience in a high-performing international school (preferred)
• Strong commitment to student welfare and development
• Ability to provide constructive feedback to enhance performance
• Dynamic, passionate and engaging teacher
