Job Description

Schedule: Contingent Variable Shifts. Staff is expected to work 8/hrs. per 2 week pay period.

  • Assists anesthesia team by creating all IVs and IV setups

  • Sets up offsite anesthesia cases by transporting gas machines and Pyxis back stands

  • Team-structured work environment with high amounts of collaboration required

*Although position is contingent, 4 weeks of training will be required before moving into minimum contingent hours.

Performs a variety of technical and supportive tasks to assist daily clinical operations. Performs routine and delegated duties according to departmental policies.

Essential Functions:

  • Prepares operating rooms for surgery by assisting with equipment and supply needs, setup, and routine maintenance.
  • Assists OR team with room turnover, patient beds, and transportation of case carts.
  • Maintains inventory of relevant surgical supplies and equipment.
  • Transports patients, labs, gross specimens, and blood, as necessary.

Education Requirement:

High School Diploma or equivalent, required.

Certifications:

BLS Certification, preferred.

Skills:

  • Basic understanding of mechanical equipment.
  • Self-starter who requires little or no supervision.
  • Ability to respond appropriately to life threatening situations.
  • Effective multitasking, interpersonal, teamwork, and communication skills
  • Ability to work under pressure in a stressful environment.
  • Working knowledge of supply chain or materials management.
  • Working knowledge of surgical and anesthesia procedures.

Experience:

Previous health care experience, preferred.
