Our client is a technology company solving payments problems for businesses. Their mission is to help businesses in Africa become profitable, envied, and loved. They provide a suite of products to help businesses accept payments online and offline, manage their operations, and grow their business. Our client is driven by a commitment to excellence, innovation, and customer satisfaction.

Our client is building economic infrastructure for the continent and making it easier for entrepreneurs and companies to grow their business. Since inception, they have drastically scaled their online payment offering, and recently started focusing on in-person payments. They are also excited for the upcoming launch of their innovative consumer payments application, designed to simplify and enhance the way people transfer funds. As they prepare to introduce their product to the market, they are seeking a talented marketing professional to join their team.

This role, based in Lagos Nigeria, will report to our client’s Digital Marketing Lead, providing a unique opportunity to shape their consumer brand's presence and impact from the ground up. The ideal candidate will bring strategic marketing expertise, creativity, and a passion for driving successful product launches in the fintech space. The objective is to execute the go-to-market strategy for a consumer payment product, generating awareness and driving engagement following the launch.

Requirements

Experience: 3 - 5 years proven marketing experience, ideally in fintech or consumer payments, with a focus on product launches.

Digital Marketing: Hands on experience in PPC, display ads, social media ads, SEO, SEM, and email marketing tools (e.g., Google Ads, Google Analytics, Facebook Ads Manager).

Growth Campaigns: Experience in performance marketing, user acquisition, and A/B testing for optimization.

Content & Social Media: Ability to create engaging content and manage social media channels to build a community.

Collaboration: Ability to work with cross-functional teams (product, design, support) to align messaging and optimize customer touchpoints.

Data-Driven: Ability to track and analyze marketing performance, and report on key metrics (e.g., CAC, CTR, conversion rates).

Adaptability: Able to pivot quickly and adapt strategies based on feedback and market changes.

Market Insight: A strong understanding of consumer behavior and market trends within the payments industry, specifically in Nigeria, to tailor strategies that resonate with the target audience.

Excellent Communication Skills: Strong interpersonal and communication skills to build partnerships, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and engage with customers and stakeholders effectively.

Multitasking & Deadline Management: Capable of handling multiple projects simultaneously, working under tight deadlines, and maintaining high attention to detail.

Proactive & Adaptive: A proactive attitude with the flexibility to adapt to feedback and changing circumstances, particularly as you prepare for the product launch.

Responsibilities


Social Media Management:

  • Develop and implement a detailed social media strategy based on the overarching marketing strategy to drive brand awareness and engagement.
  • Create and schedule engaging content across platforms (e.g., Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn).
  • Monitor social media channels, engage with the audience, and respond to inquiries, and build a community.
  • Actively grow and nurture the social media community to enhance brand visibility and engagement.

Digital Advertising:

  • Set up and manage targeted online advertising campaigns (e.g., Google Ads, Facebook ads) to acquire new users and drive leads.
  • Focus on high-impact channels to reach target demographics effectively.
  • Analyze ad performance and optimize campaigns based on real-time data.
  • Use A/B testing and other performance analysis methods to fine-tune efforts.
  • Drive a large volume of qualified leads through strategic online advertising efforts.

Performance Tracking and Reporting:

  • Track and report on KPIs, including social media engagement, lead generation and user acquisition.
  • Provide weekly updates to the team with insights and campaign optimization recommendations.
