Job Description

Freddie’s Flowers was founded by Freddie Garland in October 2014 with one ambition: to change people’s relationship with flowers. We believe flowers aren’t only for grand occasions, but they make every day special, inspiring creativity and sparking joy.

Our starting point was our direct-to-consumer subscription model, helping us grow a loyal UK following. We launched in Germany in 2020, and then in 2021 we secured significant backing from The Craftory, a like-minded purpose-led global investment house, helping us expand, develop and grow. 2023 saw us start our gifting service – bringing the best of Freddie’s Flowers to everyone who needs it (even last minute!).

From the seed of an idea we continue to flourish; we’re now a B Corp organisation. And our founding mission remains unchanged – to change the world of flowers, and to change the world with flowers.

About the Role

The Merchandiser is responsible for ensuring the optimal product mix, pricing, and promotional strategy to maximise commercial performance across subscription and gifting in both the UK and Germany. This role is a critical link between the Flowers, Creative, Ops/Buying, Marketing and Commercial teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Google & Microsoft Ads: Responsible for day to day operations of our Google Ads accounts, managing budgets, creating campaigns and optimising bids, ads and product feeds to hit targeted KPIs, as well as developing test and learn road maps to further grow the account.
  • SEO/GEO: Working with our SEO/GEO agency to review and implement recommendations to improve our rankings across Search Engines and increase our mentions/share of voice in AI platforms.
  • Other PPC Based Performance Channels: Including but not limited to Chat GPT ads and supporting other channels where necessary (e.g. affiliates)
  • Advanced Analytics: Build & automate reports using google sheets, looker and claude, to give effective insight to optimise campaigns and report to senior management on performance.
  • Conversion Rate Optimisation - Be responsible for pushing the boundaries of our website, working with your manager and product team to tailor and optimise pages to ad content and across core pages of the website.

Requirements

Must have skills

  • Google Ads: Have 2 years experience in PPC, specifically hands on experience of campaign creation and management in Google Ads in-house/agency role (experience with Google Ads editor & Shopping Campaigns/Feeds is a must)
  • Analytical & Automation: You possess a very strong analytical background. You are comfortable with complex datasets, advanced Excel/Google Sheets, and data visualization tools (e.g. Looker Studio, Tableau, or GA4).
  • AI Skills: Whilst you might not be an AI-pro yet, you will have started to explore how to automate analysis and workflows and be starting to incorporate this into daily/weekly tasks.
  • Resilience & Proactiveness: This is a target based role, with weekly KPIs. Whilst you will have the support of your manager, you must be comfortable managing performance to hit targets and pro-actively developing plans/ taking action where there are variances to forecasts.

Nice to have skills

  • German Speaking: Whilst not a requirement for the role as we have in-house German resources that can be leveraged for ad-copy/landing pages and tools for translation, speaking German is a plus.
  • SEO/GEO Experience: Any experience managing an agency or in-house SEO/GEO is preferable.

About Freddie's Flowers

Freddie’s Flowers is a fast-growing direct-to-consumer flower business based in the UK and Germany. It all started with Freddie Garland delivering weekly flowers to his Mum & Dad’s neighbours back in 2015 in a knackered old milk float. Our wonderful team is now delivering thousands of boxes every day, but Freddie’s original idea hasn’t changed - to change people’s relationship with flowers. We want to bring the happiness and joy of arranging and experiencing your own flowers into everyone’s home, and in a way that has as little environmental impact as possible - we’re now a B Corp certified, proving that our love for flowers goes hand-in-hand with our love for the planet.

The secret to our success is:

We love what we do and we know what the plan is.

We work hard to do it brilliantly.

We have fun working together.
