The Performance Manager, De Novo Financial Centers is responsible for driving disciplined execution and accelerating performance across newly established Financial Centers. Acting as a strategic partner to regional and market leadership, this role translates business priorities into clear tactics, expected behaviors, measurable outcomes, and sustainable performance routines.

The Performance Manager provides targeted coaching, field-based support, and performance insights to strengthen leader effectiveness and advance the readiness and early performance of De Novo Financial Centers. Through strong partnership across Performance & Sales Effectiveness, regional leadership, Sales Enablement, Design & Delivery, Analytics, Recruiting, and other key teams, this role helps build a consistent and repeatable approach to Financial Center launches.

The successful candidate will bring a strong understanding of retail banking performance, leadership coaching, data-driven decision-making, and change execution. This individual will identify performance opportunities, reinforce accountability, and help leaders accelerate customer acquisition, colleague readiness, and speed to productivity.

The De Novo program is designed to support Day 1 operational and market readiness, early customer acquisition, and a scalable approach to launching high-performing Financial Centers.

Key Accountabilities

Performance and Execution

  • Partner with Regional Presidents, Market Presidents, and other business leaders to align De Novo priorities with regional and enterprise objectives.
  • Translate business strategy into actionable tactics, leadership behaviors, success drivers, and measurable outcomes.
  • Establish and reinforce structured performance routines that promote accountability, disciplined execution, and sustained results.
  • Review performance data and field observations to identify trends, opportunities, execution gaps, and required actions.
  • Provide clear and consistent updates on performance, priorities, risks, and progress through established leadership routines.
  • Track commitments and follow up with leaders to ensure agreed-upon actions are completed.

De Novo Launch and Readiness

  • Provide focused performance support before and after the opening of assigned De Novo Financial Centers.
  • Partner with De Novo workstreams to support operational, market, workforce, and leadership readiness.
  • Help leaders establish strong execution disciplines and performance routines from the outset.
  • Identify and escalate barriers that may affect launch readiness, customer acquisition, colleague effectiveness, or early Financial Center performance.
  • Capture lessons learned and share successful practices to improve the consistency and repeatability of future launches.
  • Support strategies that accelerate speed to productivity and contribute to strong Day 1 and early-stage performance.

Leadership Coaching and Field Engagement

  • Conduct regular coaching sessions with Market Presidents and other designated market leaders.
  • Maintain a strong field presence to observe execution, reinforce expectations, and identify performance opportunities.
  • Use performance data, observations, and business priorities to provide focused and actionable coaching.
  • Document agreed-upon actions and monitor progress toward established outcomes.
  • Strengthen leadership capability and accountability without assuming the responsibilities of market or Financial Center leadership.
  • Reinforce client-focused communication, growth priorities, and consistent leadership behaviors.

The established Performance Manager model includes regular coaching with Market Presidents, field visits, documented calls to action, and follow-up against performance expectations.

Talent and Role Readiness

  • Partner with Learning, Sales Enablement, Recruiting, and business leaders to identify readiness and capability needs.
  • Provide insights on leadership, staffing, and role-readiness opportunities based on performance trends and field observations.
  • Connect leaders to appropriate learning, coaching, and enablement resources when knowledge or skill gaps are identified.
  • Support the successful adoption of role expectations, performance routines, and execution standards.
  • Contribute performance-based observations to appropriate talent, hiring, and development discussions.

Cross-Functional Partnership

  • Build effective partnerships across regional leadership, Performance & Sales Effectiveness, Sales Enablement, Design & Delivery, Analytics, Recruiting, Operations, and other De Novo workstreams.
  • Coordinate with partners to address performance barriers, capability gaps, and execution needs.
  • Promote alignment across teams and clarify ownership of actions and deliverables.
  • Share insights and effective practices across regions and Financial Centers.
  • Support a collaborative, client-focused culture and an integrated approach to De Novo execution.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience in performance management, sales leadership, retail banking, market leadership, business execution, or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of performance drivers, leadership routines, coaching practices, and the use of data to improve business outcomes.
  • Experience translating strategy into practical actions, behaviors, and measurable results.
  • Demonstrated ability to coach and influence leaders while maintaining clear accountability.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify trends and convert insights into action.
  • Proven ability to build relationships and work effectively across functions and organizational levels.
  • Strong written and verbal communication, facilitation, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic, deadline-driven environment.
  • Ability to work independently while remaining aligned with regional leadership and enterprise partners.
  • Willingness and ability to travel regularly to assigned markets and Financial Centers.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting new Financial Center or branch openings.
  • Experience in retail banking sales, service, operations, or performance leadership.
  • Knowledge of market-level and Financial Center performance measures.
  • Experience supporting large-scale change, business transformation, or growth initiatives.
  • Experience partnering with senior leaders and cross-functional teams.
  • Familiarity with leadership development, colleague readiness, and performance-coaching practices.
