The Performance Engineer role ensures opportunities from area losses are captured, evaluated, prioritized and solutions are implemented to maximize the Business Team’s P&L.

What You'll Do:

• Actively support and participate in environmental, health and safety initiatives to drive EH&S excellence. Participates in and/or leads Management of Change Activity.
• Proactive in leading improvement projects, actively seeking opportunities and anticipating challenges.
• Understand all applicable process technology, equipment and control technology.
• Own and eliminate production losses whether Utilization, Yield or Uptime
• Evaluate and categorize production losses
• Record and analyze all production deviation data
• Determine and prioritize corrective actions to close Operational Performance gaps
• Review daily operating logs to identify equipment reliability issues & determine causes.
• Work with Operations Capability Leader to determine solutions for mitigating losses due to operating discipline.
• Participate in advanced trouble shooting and coaches others to learn these skills. Utilizes Root Cause Analysis techniques to identify and drive improvements to prevent recurrent issues.
• Understand and apply skills and knowledge in Statistical Process Control (SPC) technology, to maximize plant asset utilization and produce low cost, quality products.
• Network with other engineers on site and within the business to leverage knowledge on plant operations.
• As required, communicate technical information and issues to plant personnel, Technology or Expertise centers.
• The Performance engineer must interface often with a variety of personnel, including leadership, operators, maintenance personnel, R&D, auditors, etc. They must have highly effective interpersonal and communication skills.
• Understand the goals of the organization and aligns individual goals with these objectives. Low value work must be eliminated or altered. Focus on activities that generate the most value for Corteva.
• Demonstrate strong engineering skills to troubleshoot process bottlenecks, evaluate new opportunities, and prioritize complex issues.

Qualifications

• 4 year engineering degree​ (Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial preferred)
• Strong leadership and coaching skills​

• Leadership aptitude in diverse situations
• High interpersonal effectiveness and communication skills to positively influence others
