Auckland Council’s Financial Strategy & Reporting department has an opportunity for a Quality Control & Document Specialist to join the Group Performance Reporting team.
This is a critical role focused on producing accurate, plain-language financial publications and ensuring quality control, editorial oversight, and document governance across some major council documents.
You could expect to work on:
· Preparing written financial and non-financial content for the Annual Report, Annual Budget and 10-Year Budget
· Translating complex financial and technical information into clear, plain-English narratives
· Managing document workflows, structure, and publication timelines
· Collaborating with subject-matter experts, designers, and senior stakeholders
· Ensuring factual accuracy, consistency, and readability across all publications
He kōrero mōu: About you
This role requires experience in financial communication, technical writing, and/or performance reporting. You will have experience in similar roles within large, complex, and potentially political organisations.
We will be looking for specific experience with the key role requirements:
· Leading the writing and editing of high-quality financial publications
· Translating complex financial data into clear, audience-friendly content
· Applying strong editorial oversight and quality assurance controls
· Structuring and compiling complex information from multiple contributors
· Managing project workflows and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
