Primary Duties and Responsibilities

In this role, you will be providing coverage for clinical services related to radiation therapy and independent prioritization of patient care activities for Ronald Reagan Medical Plaza clinic. You will assist with the coordination of patient care and delivery in the Radiation Oncology Department. You will also be providing directions and assistance to clinic staff while promoting quality and cost-effective patient care, including patient assessment, treatment and education.

The Radiation Oncology Nurse Per Diem embodies the essence of professional Registered Nursing, assuming both responsibility and accountability for patients within a designated time frame. Utilizing the nursing process and collaborative input from the healthcare team, our nurses delivers comprehensive care. They exemplify the professional standards set forth by the American Nurses Association (ANA), actively engaging in ethical considerations, educational endeavors, evidence-based practice, and research. Additionally, they champion quality improvement initiatives, demonstrate leadership prowess, foster collaboration among peers, evaluate professional practice, optimize resource utilization, promote environmental health, and advocate for patients as integral components of clinical nursing practice.

Salary Range: $87.47 Hourly

Job Qualifications

    • BSN or MSN – required
    • Current California RN license – required
    • ACLS and BCLS from the American Red Cross or American Heart Association – required
    • At least 2 years of recent Med/Surg or Oncology experience – preferred
    • At least 2 years of recent Radiation Oncology experience – preferred
    • Ability to develop and implement and evaluate patient care plan actively involving patients, family, and staff
    • Ability to perform historical, physical and behavioral patient assessments
    • Ability to develop and implement and evaluate patient care plan actively involving patients, family, and staff
