The Phlebotomist serves as a vital member of the healthcare team, contributing to accurate diagnosis and effective treatment by expertly collecting and preparing blood and other specimens for laboratory analysis. This role is essential to ensuring the timely delivery of precise test results that directly impact patient care. Success in this position requires strong technical proficiency in venipuncture and specimen handling, coupled with a commitment to quality, safety, and patient-centered service.

Hours:

  • Per Diem
  • Morning hours of 5:00am - 7:00am
  • Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform venipuncture, arterial puncture, and capillary blood collection on patients of all ages.
  • Verify patient identity and ensure accurate labeling of all specimens.
  • Maintain specimen integrity by following proper collection, handling, and transportation procedures.
  • Assist with processing and preparing specimens for laboratory analysis.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Follow all infection control, safety, and confidentiality policies and procedures.
  • Provide excellent customer service and compassionate care to patients.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and records of procedures performed.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, nursing staff, and laboratory personnel.

Qualifications:

  • Demonstrates eligibility for employment in the U.S.
  • High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent required
  • Completion of an accredited phlebotomy training program preferred
  • A minimum of six (6) months of previous phlebotomy experience required
  • Must possess a cell phone that interfaces with the organization’s secure messaging system
