Job Description
Histology and Pathology Assistant programs, ensuring efficient lab functionality, compliance with safety standards, and preparation of instructional materials.
Essential Functions
- Lab Operations & Maintenance
- Monitor inventory levels and order laboratory supplies as needed to maintain the lab
- Perform routine post-laboratory cleaning and maintenance, including waste removal, surface disinfection, instrument and tray cleaning, and floor care
- Maintain and monitor laboratory tracking devices and equipment functionality Safety & Compliance
- Handle and dispose of biohazardous materials in accordance with established safety protocols, including packaging and preparing red biohazard waste for collection
- Conduct weekly inspections of the eyewash stations to ensure proper functionality and compliance with safety standards Specimen Preparation & Instructional Support
- Prepare specimens for Pathology laboratory instruction, including cutting, cleaning, and treatment of specimens
- Support laboratory sessions by ensuring all materials and specimens are properly prepared and available for instructional use
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of a HS Diploma or GED
- Minimum of 1 year of experience.

Additional Information
This is a Part-Time per diem position classified as Non-Exempt. The offered pay is based on the successful candidate’s qualifications and experience, department budget, and an internal equity review.
