We have an extraordinary opportunity for a skilled Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our team as a Per Diem Overnight Residential Nurse.
Guiding Eyes provides on-campus housing for visually impaired students, age 16 and older, during their two-week guide dog training program. As a Residential Nurse, you will help ensure the well-being of students by providing a safe, supportive environment and contributing to a positive residential experience throughout their stay on campus.
In this role, you will support students participating in the training program, provide excellent care, and perform established processes in accordance with Guiding Eyes policies. Responsibilities include oversight of evening activities, maintaining an active and accessible presence for students, managing medical concerns, and responding to problems or emergencies that may arise. You will also assist students and their guide dogs in navigating the campus safely and provide support with basic dog-care activities, including supervision in the relief area.
This position is onsite at our campus in Yorktown Heights, NY and requires overnight stays during assigned shifts. Typical shift hours are 4:30pm to 6:30 am. Meals and a private room are provided during shifts.
