Fox TV StationsFOX Television Stations owns and operates 29 full power broadcast television stations in the U.S. These include stations located in 14 of the top 15 largest designated market areas, or DMAs, and duopolies in 11 DMAs, including the three largest DMAs (New York, Los Angeles and Chicago). Of these stations, 18 are affiliated with the FOX Network. In addition to distributing sports, entertainment and syndicated content, our television stations collectively produce approximately 1,200 hours of local news every week. These stations leverage viewer, distributor and advertiser demand for the FOX Network’s national content.

Are you ready to GO THERE in the City of Brotherly Love? WTXF - FOX 29 Philadelphia is seeking a passionate, enthusiastic, and creative Per Diem News Reporter to help grow our brand and our team. This is a per diem position primarily used to cover shifts when our full-time staff is on vacation or out sick. The ideal candidate possesses a dedicated, driven, and tireless work ethic, alongside a real passion for owning their stories from inception to air. If you are a powerhouse on camera with a dominant live presence, we want to see your reel! This position will be paid a daily rate of $400.00.

Key Responsibilities

  • General Assignment Reporting: Deliver compelling, accurate, and visually engaging hard news stories across all FOX 29 newscasts.
  • Live Presence: Maintain a strong, dynamic, and professional live presence on the scene, breaking down complex stories clearly for our viewers.
  • Story Generation: Enterprise original story ideas, develop local contacts, and investigate breaking news.
  • Schedule Flexibility: Adapt to a highly flexible schedule to support the newsroom across various dayparts, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Experience: Minimum of four (4) years of professional on-air news reporting experience.
  • Market Track Record: Proven track record as a hard news Reporter/Anchor in a Top 50 market, with previous experience covering major stories in medium-to-large markets.
  • Education: Four-year college degree is preferred.
  • Skills: Exceptional storytelling ability, strong journalistic ethics, sharp ad-libbing skills, and the ability to work under tight deadlines.

Pursuant to state and local pay disclosure requirements, the pay rate/range for this role, with final offer amount dependent on education, skills, experience, and location is $40.00-50.00 per hour.
