Position Summary

Astute Business Solutions is seeking an experienced PeopleSoft Technical Lead & OCI

Cloud Architect to lead the architecture, migration, upgrade, administration, and ongoing

management of enterprise PeopleSoft environments.

This is a senior, hands-on technical leadership role. The successful candidate must be

equally comfortable designing an OCI architecture, leading a PeopleSoft migration or upgrade,

troubleshooting a complex production issue, and working directly with customers and Astute's

technical teams.

The individual will play a key role in migrating legacy and on-premises PeopleSoft environments

to Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, modernizing existing PeopleSoft environments, performing

PeopleTools and application upgrades, and supporting Astute's growing Oracle Cloud Managed

Services practice.

Key Responsibilities

PeopleSoft Architecture & Administration

• Architect, install, configure, maintain, and support PeopleSoft 9.2 environments and

current PeopleTools releases.

• Serve as a senior technical lead and Subject Matter Expert for PeopleSoft Internet

Architecture (PIA), application servers, web servers, Process Scheduler, Integration

Broker, and related PeopleSoft technologies.

• Build and configure development, test, UAT, training, disaster recovery, and production

environments.

• Lead PeopleSoft application upgrades, PeopleTools upgrades, PUM updates, patching,

and environment refresh activities.

• Configure and administer PeopleSoft Cloud Manager where applicable.
• Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot WebLogic, Tuxedo, COBOL, Java/JDK,

and other required PeopleSoft technology components.

• Configure and optimize Fluid UI, Elasticsearch/OpenSearch, Kibana, and related search

and analytics components.

Oracle Cloud Infrastructure – OCI

• Design and implement secure, scalable, highly available OCI architectures for

PeopleSoft and related enterprise workloads.

• Lead PeopleSoft Lift & Shift migrations from on-premises data centers and other

cloud environments to OCI.

• Design OCI Compute, Networking, Storage, Load Balancing, IAM, Security, Database,

Backup, and Disaster Recovery architectures.

• Configure OCI networking, including VCNs, subnets, routing, security lists/NSGs, load

balancers, VPN/FastConnect connectivity, and related services.

• Design and implement High Availability and Disaster Recovery solutions using

appropriate Oracle and OCI technologies.

• Support infrastructure automation using Terraform, scripting, PeopleSoft Cloud

Manager, and other automation technologies.

• Participate in OCI architecture assessments, migration planning, cutover planning,

performance optimization, and post-migration support.

Oracle Database & Performance Management

• Install, configure, administer, and troubleshoot Oracle databases supporting PeopleSoft

environments.

• Support Oracle 12c/18c/19c and newer supported Oracle Database releases as

appropriate.

• Perform database upgrades, patching, cloning, backup, recovery, and performance

tuning.

• Configure and manage RMAN backup and recovery processes.
• Work with Oracle RAC, Data Guard, High Availability, and Disaster Recovery

configurations.

• Diagnose application, database, operating system, and infrastructure performance

issues across the complete PeopleSoft technology stack.

Security & Integration

• Configure and support PeopleSoft Integration Broker and enterprise integrations.
• Configure Single Sign-On using LDAP, SAML, and other enterprise identity

technologies.

• Support integration between PeopleSoft and OCI IAM/identity services where

appropriate.

• Work with security teams to implement secure cloud and application architectures based

on enterprise and Oracle best practices.

Automation & Technical Leadership

• Develop and maintain UNIX/Linux shell scripts for administration, monitoring,

automation, patching, backup, and operational activities.

• Understand PeopleSoft development technologies—including Application Designer,

PeopleCode, Application Engine, Component Interfaces, Integration Broker, and

PeopleSoft Security—from a senior technical administration perspective.

• Develop technical architecture documents, migration plans, runbooks, installation

documentation, cutover plans, and operational procedures.

• Lead troubleshooting sessions involving PeopleSoft, Oracle Database, WebLogic, Linux,

networking, and OCI.

• Mentor technical team members and establish repeatable implementation and managed-

services standards.

Customer & Project Leadership

• Work directly with Astute customers to understand technical requirements and

recommend appropriate PeopleSoft and OCI solutions.

• Participate in discovery workshops, architecture reviews, project planning, migration

planning, and technical presentations.

• Lead technical activities during PeopleSoft migrations, upgrades, cloud implementations,

and production cutovers.

• Coordinate closely with Astute's U.S. and international delivery teams.
• Communicate project risks, dependencies, technical issues, and recommendations

clearly to both technical and executive stakeholders.

• Ensure assigned projects and technical deliverables are completed according to agreed

schedules and quality standards.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a

related technical field, or equivalent professional experience.

• Extensive hands-on experience administering and supporting enterprise PeopleSoft

environments.

• Strong experience with PeopleSoft 9.2 and PeopleTools 8.58 or later.
• Demonstrated experience with PeopleSoft installation, administration, upgrades, PUM

updates, patching, cloning, and troubleshooting.

• Strong hands-on Oracle Database administration experience.
• Strong Linux/UNIX administration and shell scripting skills.
• Hands-on experience with WebLogic, Tuxedo, Process Scheduler, PIA, Integration

Broker, and PeopleSoft application architecture.

• Experience designing, implementing, or supporting Oracle Cloud Infrastructure

environments.

• Strong understanding of enterprise networking, security, load balancing, High

Availability, backup, and Disaster Recovery concepts.

• Experience supporting large, complex enterprise environments for U.S. and/or

international customers.

• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, documentation, and problem-solving capabilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively with customers, project managers, architects, DBAs,

developers, functional consultants, and infrastructure teams.

Highly Preferred Qualifications

Preference will be given to candidates with experience in several of the following areas:

• OCI Architect Associate or OCI Architect Professional Certification.
• Multiple PeopleSoft-to-OCI Lift & Shift migrations.
• PeopleSoft Cloud Manager.
• Terraform and Infrastructure as Code.
• Oracle RAC and Data Guard.
• OCI networking and security architecture.
• PeopleTools and PeopleSoft application upgrades.
• Oracle Database upgrades and migrations.
• Elasticsearch/OpenSearch and Kibana.
• PeopleSoft performance tuning.
• Large-scale PeopleSoft Managed Services environments.
• High Availability and Disaster Recovery architecture.
• PeopleSoft FSCM, HCM, Campus Solutions, and/or Interaction Hub environments.

What We Are Looking For

We are looking for more than a traditional PeopleSoft Administrator or Oracle DBA.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on PeopleSoft technical leader who understands the

complete technology stack—from PeopleSoft and Oracle Database through Linux,

WebLogic, networking, security, and OCI architecture.

You should be comfortable taking ownership of complex technical environments, leading

migrations and upgrades, troubleshooting critical production issues, interacting directly with

customers, and helping Astute develop repeatable solutions for PeopleSoft modernization on

Oracle Cloud.
