Overview

The People Transformation and Organisation Effectiveness Lead is a senior specialist role accountable for enabling successful workforce and People transformation through integrated strategic communications and development portfolio delivery.

The role partners with People leaders, business stakeholders and transformation teams to translate complex initiatives into clear workforce outcomes. It ensures employees and leaders understand what is changing, why it matters, what is required and how new ways of working will be adopted and sustained.

The role leads enterprise People communications and supports associated change delivery for all People initiatives. It identifies practical opportunities to use AI to improve communication quality, stakeholder insight, productivity, employee experience and team effectiveness. It supports the delivery of organisational development, leadership and workforce change initiatives.

Success is measured through workforce adoption, readiness, employee experience, capability uplift, benefits realisation and the sustainability of new behaviours and operating practices.

Key Accountabilities and main responsibilities

Strategic Focus

  • Lead the enterprise People communications strategy, including narrative, audiences, channels, cadence, governance and impact measurement.
  • Partner with the People Leadership Team to support the People transformation and AI enablement portfolio with clear outcomes, sequencing, ownership and measures of success.
  • Support workforce transformation strategies that align operating model, process, role, capability, technology and employee experience outcomes.
  • Identify opportunities to apply AI, automation and digital tools to improve productivity, communication effectiveness and employee experience.

Change Management & Transformation

  • Lead change initiatives ranging from targeted improvements to supporting People and enterprise transformation programs.
  • Develop change strategies, impact assessments, stakeholder analysis, engagement plans, readiness assessments and support development interventions and reinforcement plans.
  • Coach sponsors and leaders to communicate with clarity, address resistance and visibly lead the required change.
  • Build practical change capability across People and leadership teams through tools, coaching, facilitated sessions and hands-on support.
  • Use adoption data and stakeholder feedback to adjust interventions, remove barriers and strengthen benefits realisation.

Enterprise People Communications

  • Own People communications governance, including standards, approval pathways, channel principles, quality controls and measures of effectiveness partnering closely with the enterprise Communications team.
  • Design and deliver communication strategies for People priorities, transformation programs and significant workforce changes.
  • Manage the enterprise People communication calendar to coordinate sequencing, reduce duplication and prevent message fatigue.
  • Translate complex strategy, policy, process and technology changes into clear, audience-specific and action-oriented communication.
  • Create multi-channel campaigns, executive messaging, leader packs, employee updates and practical guidance that support consistent delivery.
  • Measure reach, understanding, engagement and action, using insight to improve communication outcomes.
  • Lead communications during significant organisational change with relevant corporate, legal, risk and employee relations stakeholders.

Organisational Development & Capability

  • Support leadership, manager, culture and organisational effectiveness initiatives that strengthen workforce readiness and business performance..
  • Partner with Organisational Development, Leadership & Capability and People Partners to connect transformation needs with relevant programs and resources.
  • Help leaders and teams build the behaviours, skills and routines required to sustain operating model, process and technology change.
  • Use employee insight, change data and business feedback to identify organisational effectiveness barriers and recommend targeted interventions.
  • Strengthen digital and AI fluency, learning agility and confidence in adopting new ways of working.

Governance, Risk & Compliance

  • Establish proportionate communication governance, including decision forums, plans, reporting, risks, issues, dependencies, actions and decisions.
  • Ensure initiatives meet applicable legal, regulatory, privacy, security, industrial relations, responsible AI and internal policy requirements in partnership with subject matter experts.
  • Identify and escalate delivery, people, reputational and operational risks early, with clear mitigations, owners and timeframes.

Experience & Personal Attributes

Essential Experience

  • 2+ years' experience in change management, organisational development, strategic communications, transformation or HR consulting.
  • Experience delivering outcomes in complex, matrixed and preferably global organisations.
  • Demonstrated experience leading enterprise-wide People or workforce communications.
  • Strong consulting, executive engagement, facilitation and stakeholder influence capability.
  • Experience managing multiple concurrent projects or workstreams with clear priorities, dependencies, risks and outcomes.
  • Proven project and program management expertise, including governance, planning, reporting and benefits tracking.
  • Practical experience applying Agile methodologies.
  • Strong analytical and data literacy, with the ability to convert quantitative and qualitative insight into action.

  • Experience using AI-enabled tools or approaches to improve workforce transformation, communications, change delivery, insight or productivity.
  • Understanding of digital adoption and the human factors that influence effective technology use.
  • Application of human-centred design to understand user needs, test solutions and improve employee experience.
  • Organisational network thinking and awareness of informal influence and adoption dynamics.
  • Experience using change analytics, listening data and behavioural indicators to assess readiness and adoption.
  • Exposure to employee experience design, workforce planning, service design and operating model development.
  • Awareness of responsible AI, privacy, security, risk and governance considerations in workforce applications.
