At Officeworks we make bigger things happen. Our customers, our team, and our community are our heart and soul. And if our brilliant people have taught us anything, it is that we can do all kinds of incredible things, each and every day.
Fast paced. Innovative. Inspiring. With close to 10,000 team members and a national footprint of more than 173 retail stores Australia wide – we’re focused on delivering a wide range, low price and great service. We’re about inspiring new ideas and thinking outside the box. We’re about kicking goals, having a laugh and pushing each other. We are about being rewarded and supported. We’re about teaching a customer something new and supporting the community. We’re about making a difference.
We’re looking for a People Systems Specialist on a 12-month fixed term contract with deep expertise in payroll systems, particularly SAP SuccessFactors EC/ECP and Kronos, to join our People & Culture team.
This role sits within People Systems and is focused on improving how our systems support payroll outcomes not owning payroll processing or core system configuration (which sits with Technology). Instead, it operates at the intersection of payroll knowledge and systems optimisation, ensuring our platforms are designed, utilised, and continuously improved to meet business and compliance needs.
You will play a key role in enhancing system processes, identifying opportunities for automation, and ensuring payroll-related functionality across EC/ECP and Kronos is operating effectively and efficiently. Working closely with Payroll, Technology, and broader People teams, you will help translate payroll requirements into scalable system solutions and improved user experiences.
In addition, you will hold ownership of Position Management and organisational structure within SuccessFactors, ensuring the integrity, governance, and alignment of positions and hierarchies to support workforce planning, reporting, and downstream payroll outcomes.
This is a hands-on role suited to someone who understands payroll deeply, but is motivated by improving systems, processes, and outcomes rather than performing payroll itself.
You are a People Systems specialist with strong experience in payroll platforms, particularly EC/ECP and Kronos. You understand payroll concepts including awards, EBAs, and legislative requirements and how these interact with system processes, but your focus is on improving how systems enable these outcomes.
You’re naturally curious about how things work, proactive in identifying inefficiencies, and confident working across teams to uplift processes, controls, and system capability.
