HR Advisor (12-month FTC)

Swindon, Newport or Stockton-on-Tees

Band D - £34,101 - £36,000

We now have an opportunity for an experienced HR Advisor to join our People Team on a 12-month contract. As a HR Advisor you will support managers and employees across the business on a full range of employee relations matters, with a strong focus on casework you will ensure that cases are handled fairly, consistently and in line with employment law, organisational policy and best practice.

Duties will include, but not be limited to the following:

  • Managementandcoordinationofemployeerelationactivity,providing appropriate advice and guidance to managers to assist resolving people issues in a timely manner.

  • SubjectmatterexpertinallareasofHR policyandprocedure,andconfidentinits application within investigation meetings, disciplinary and grievance hearings.

  • Ensuring legalisation, policy and ACAS best practise are followed.

  • Responsible for assessing whether an employee needs to be referred to OccupationalHealth,facilitationofthereferralandcoachingandsupportingboththe business and employee in relation to the recommendations.

  • Administrationandcoordinationofcaseworkrecordsandtracker

  • Support and undertake policy review adapting HR best practice to ensurepoliciesandpracticesarefitforpurpose,complywithemploymentlawand are successfully implemented

  • Identify where guidance is required to support or in place of company policy

  • Workinpartnershipwiththeseniormanagementteamwithregardstothepeople agenda, working to achieve the business objectives.

To do this role well you will need:

  • Proven work history as a HR Advisor

  • Ideally possessing CIPD level 5 or equivalent experience

  • Demonstratableabilitytomanageandresolveemployeerelationsissues,including disciplinary and grievance cases.

  • Provenabilitytocoachandsupportmanagersinperformancemanagement, absence, disciplinary, and grievance processes.

  • ExpertiseinapplyingHRpoliciesandensuringcompliancewithemploymentlawand best practices.

  • Effectivecommunication skills and the ability to buildrelationshipswithemployees,managers, and trade unions.

  • Abilitytomanagemultipleprioritiesanddeadlinesinafast-pacedenvironment.

  • Previous experience of creating,reviewing,andimplementingHRpolicies, ensuringthat they arecompliantwith employment law and best practices.

  • ExperienceinassessingtheneedforOccupationalHealthreferralsandsupporting the implementation of recommendations.
