About the Role

Reporting to the Head of People Process & Systems, the People Services Manager leads and develops a team of six direct reports to deliver accurate, timely and customer-focused people administration and process support across the employee lifecycle.

The role strengthens service delivery, employee data quality, people-system outcomes and team capability, while working closely with Payroll, People Delivery, People Experience and business teams.

About You

You are an experienced people services or HR operations leader who can set clear direction, build team capability and deliver consistent service outcomes. You bring strong knowledge of employee lifecycle administration, HR policy, process improvement, employee data governance and the practical interpretation and escalation of matters involving enterprise agreements and employment contracts. You are proficient in SAP SuccessFactors and understand payroll systems and data flows, including ADP or comparable payroll platforms.

What you will do

  • Lead, develop and manage the People Services team, setting clear priorities, service standards, performance expectations and accountability.
  • Oversee employee lifecycle administration and complex service matters to ensure accurate, timely, compliant and consistent outcomes.
  • Maintain the quality, integrity and governance of employee data in SAP SuccessFactors and related people and payroll systems.
  • Use service insights, data trends and stakeholder feedback to improve processes, reduce rework and strengthen service delivery.
  • Build effective relationships across People, Payroll, People Delivery and business teams, and maintain clear procedures, guidance and self-service resources.

Mandatory:

  • Experience leading a people services, HR operations or shared services team in a complex organisation.
  • Demonstrated people leadership capability, including setting direction, managing performance, building capability and creating clear accountability.
  • Strong knowledge of employee lifecycle administration, HR operations, service delivery, employee data management, HR policy and process improvement.
  • Proficient experience using SAP SuccessFactors to manage employee data, workflows and HR processes.
  • Experience with payroll systems and data flows, including ADP or a comparable payroll platform.
  • Demonstrated experience interpreting and applying enterprise agreements, employment contracts and approved procedures, and escalating matters where required.
  • Strong stakeholder, communication and problem-solving skills.
  • A tertiary qualification in human resources, business, management or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant experience.

Desirable:

  • Experience in rail, transport, infrastructure, government or another regulated operating environment.
  • Experience contributing to people-system improvement, implementation or optimisation.
