This is an exciting and unique opportunity to be part of a large-scale infrastructure project located downtown Toronto. You will be part of a dynamic and collaborative “Alliance” project team which will deliver a community-oriented transit hub designed to support regional connectivity, through the incorporation of the GO Train, Ontario Line subway and future TTC light rail transit.
The People & Performance Lead will report to the People & Performance Manager within the project and plays a lead role in the Alliance’s overall people, high performance, and culture development strategies. You will be responsible for day-to-day decision making and prioritizing, with a focus on providing consultation to the Alliance team on strategic planning and employee relations, while developing and managing human resources programs and procedures.
You will provide strategic and tactical internal consulting and problem-solving advice tothe project teaminhuman resourcesprograms and services.
Contribute to theAllianceproject strategy by helping the leaders to identify, prioritize, and build organizational capabilitiesandbehaviors
You will closely workwithmembers of the management teamin reviewing and actioning our workforce plan to ensure the project meets the key performance indicators.
Assist the management team with building a high-performance team through talent assessments, workforce and succession planning, risk assessment and development plans.
You will be able to effectively manage situationsofconflictby working closely withmembers of the management team and employees toensure employee relations issues are handled professionally andin atimelymanner
You will be able to conductworkplaceinvestigations andmanagegrievances when appropriate.
You willimplement and champion human resource policiesand practices which alignand meet the needs of our project team
You will support the development ofprocesses and communications fortheongoing employee performancecycleamong all members of the Alliance team
You will champion the learning opportunities provided by the Alliance to enhance employee performance
You will provide guidance, expertise, and recommendations to enhance the quality and profile of the rewards and recognition program.
You will reinforce the development of a coaching culture as a way of inspiring projectteam members
You willcommunicate, influence, and explainvarious initiativesacross a wide range of levels and audiences within theAlliance.
A minimum of 5 yearsofexperience in a progressive Human Resources role, or a combination of experience and educationwill be considered.
Post-secondary school education in Human Resources Management or Business Administration.
Working towardsaHR designation or completed HR designation is an asset.
Human Resources experience in a unionized environment is an asset.
Ability to handle confidential information with integrity and professionalism.
Ability to solve problemsmoderatelycomplex in nature and make routine recommendations.
Ability to work proactively and positively as part of a team acting with a sense of urgency.
Ability to work in a fast-pacedbuildingprojectenvironment with competingpriorities and multiple stakeholders.
Ability to liaise and form positive relationships with all levels ofmanagementandteam members
Excellent computer skills including proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.).
Integrity and ability to handle confidential information with discretion and tact.
